Meet the Chefs at Snowbird Lodge
Sarah Zell
Executive Chef
Sarah was raised in Miami, FL before attending college in Sarasota at New College of Florida where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Sarah’s love of food grew profoundly when she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines and she returned to the United States to pursue a culinary education. Sarah attended the French Culinary Institute in New York, NY where she earned a Grand Diplôme in Classic Culinary Arts. Sarah worked in New York City under the tutelage of world-renowned Chef David Bouley at his flagship restaurant, Bouley, and at Quality Meats, an upscale New American steakhouse under Chef Craig Koketsu. In New York she learned a commitment to excellence, the use of fresh ingredients and the seemingly simple flavors that are arrived upon in anything but simple ways. Sarah left New York in February 2008 to join the Snowbird Lodge Family.
Jason Wolfbauer
Executive Sous Chef
Jason is a Minnesota native who came to Snowbird Lodge via Charlotte, NC where he earned an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts at the Art Institute of Charlotte. Jason began his culinary career at Salute Ristorante & Wine Bar, an Italian fine dining restaurant with exceptional local ratings. Jason moved to Town in Uptown Charlotte where he worked with an eclectic modern menu. At The Club at Longview Jason had the opportunity to develop local relationships by using produce and meats from the Charlotte area while honing his fine dining skills. At Longview, he delved into Molecular Gastronomy under the influence of world-renowned Chef Ferrán Adrià. Jason joined the team at Snowbird Lodge in April of 2008.
